Even those of us who try to be a positive person all the time can sometimes have our bad days too! And this may be harmful as our moods and emotions have the power to affect others.
The good news is, there are many ways you can boost your positive vibration to protect yourself from being affected by other people's negative energy...
And in this post, I'll be sharing a simple yet powerful 5-step process that you can implement right away!
Step 1: Identify Your Sensitivity Level
Some traits of very susceptible people include feeling drained and overwhelmed in the presence of crowds, feeling stress or pain from other people and taking it on as your own, and feeling the need to take alone time to recharge your energy levels.
If you were born with the innate ability to intuitively feel and perceive others, this is great, but be sure you follow the steps below to ensure you use your gift to your advantage.
Step 2: Identify the Source of Negativity and Take Action
How do you remain positive if you’re going through a tough time? First, identify if the negative feeling is caused from something specific that you can control. If it is, then try to confront this as soon as possible and/or seek professional help if you need to. Remember that YOU are also responsible for stopping this energy from spreading out into other areas of your life.
If you can't pinpoint the source, then chances are it's someone else's energy that you've absorbed. So take action by distancing yourself from anyone that doesn't make you feel good. If it's someone you don't know, in a movie theater for example, don't hesitate to switch places if you suddenly feel affected by their energy.
Step 3: Connect With Your Breath
If you feel a negative vibe, try to find a place where you can be by yourself for a couple of minutes. Close your eyes and try connecting with your breath.
Visualize love and positive energy coming to you every time you inhale and imagine releasing fear every time you exhale. Doing this for a few minutes will not only make you feel better, but also replenished & revitalized.
Step 4: Surround Yourself With Positive-Minded People
Spending time with people who lift you up and always see the good in every situation will help you disengage from any negative emotions. Every time you surround yourself with love and peace, you shield yourself against any negative energy that could potentially harm you.
Remember that expressing love and compassion also means loving and showing compassion to yourself. So never feel guilty about avoiding a person or a situation that doesn't feel right for you.
How can you be more positive in a relationship? Start by practicing self-love! The more love you have for yourself, the more love you have to give to others!
Step 5: Enhance Your Abilities
Practicing yoga and meditation, and having your own personal space where you can recharge your energy are all essential tools to help maintain your well-being. You can create your zen sanctuary however you’d like and this will actually help you remain positive and happy on a daily basis!
