Have you been hiding behind the belief that you're too old to learn new things, you're too set in your ways to change, you can't achieve your goals, or perhaps some other limiting belief that's been holding you back from living your ideal life?
Well if so, I have something to tell you...
A belief is just a thought that you've had over and over again, and it CAN be changed. (Negative beliefs about yourself, others or your circumstances can be eliminated from your life when you make a decision, with firm intention & emotion to do so.)
That's just one of the three take-aways I shared earlier this week after recently attending Dr. Joe Dispenza's Advanced Workshop. And I'd like to cover this in more detail now since understanding this is absolutely essential to achieving happiness in your life (at any age)!
You see, many people believe that once we hit a certain age, our personality has become so ingrained, that it's impossible to change. Dr. Joe even writes about this societal belief in his book 'Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself: How to Lose Your Mind and Create a New One':
"Psychologists tell us that by the time we're in our mid-30s, our identity or personality will be completely formed. This means that for those of us over 35, we have memorized a select set of behaviors, attitudes, beliefs, emotional reactions, habits, skills, associative memories, conditioned responses, and perceptions that are now subconsciously programmed within us. Those programs are running us, because the body has become the mind. This means that we will think the same thoughts, feel the same feelings, react in identical ways, behave in the same manner, believe the same dogmas, and perceive reality the same ways. About 95 percent of who we are by midlife is a series of subconscious programs that have become automatic-driving a car, brushing our teeth, overreacting when we're stressed, worrying about our future, judging our friends, complaining about our lives, blaming our parents, not believing in ourselves, and insisting on being chronically unhappy, just to name a few."
But the good news is it doesn't have to be this way!
You actually DO have control over your beliefs...
And it all starts with positive self-talk and positive visualization, so you can put a positive vibration into the world and attract positive people and positive opportunities into your life.

Start with these 3 powerful affirmations that you can use to rewire your brain to be more positive today!
Positive Affirmation #1 - I am a creative genius!
Say this as often as possible. But especially say it before you practice meditating or visualizing.
In fact, at Dr. Joe's workshop, he had us turn to the person next to us and say those words several times a day...
In order to become the creator of your own reality, you must first believe in your ability to create. Don't you remember being a child and playing make-believe and fun imagination games? You were creating a new reality! Continually re-harness your imagination as you grow :)
Once you believe in your ability to be your own creator, it's time to set your belief on worth...
Positive Affirmation #2 - I am worthy of everything I desire!
A great way to enhance your visualization technique, is to look up to others who already have success in the areas we're striving for as well. But be careful not to look at these people with feelings of envy or jealousy.
You see, it's quite common to have defense mechanisms embedded in our subconscious mind that belittle our self-worth so it's easier to justify our lot in life. With this negative mind set, it's nearly impossible to allow our creative geniuses to paint our masterpiece.
Once you instill in yourself a belief of worth and value, you'll open the door to self-love and opportunity...
Positive Affirmation #3 - I am in love with my life!
No matter what's happened in your past, it's that particular set of circumstances that's brought you to where you are today. Love your life for the adventure that it's been, and be grateful for all of the experiences you've had. As you emit love into your life, love will find its way back to you.
And what's so cool about all of this is that science is taking major strides to prove this too! Dr. Joe is leading the charge on scientific research to uncover just how powerful our minds are in creating our reality...
Last weekend, the Mind Movies team worked with Dr. Joe and his team of scientists throughout the workshop to study this very thing and some astonishing discoveries were made. In fact, I actually had my brain mapped (which is when they put a special cap with a bunch of sensors on your head and measure your brainwaves during different states of consciousness).
Those of us who had our brains mapped during meditations while visualizing our Mind Movie had brainwave levels that were off the charts! I'm looking forward to sharing more about that later :)
