3 Money Principles That Will Expand Your Abundance

3 Money Principles That Will Expand Your Abundance

One of the questions I often get asked is…

“Natalie, I work hard to achieve my goals and dreams and I’m tired of just surviving… Is there something I’m missing?

What’s the secret to attracting more wealth and abundance?”

When people ask me this, my answer is always the same: One thing that most people often forget is that money is energy.

Money is something to be embraced and celebrated, not feared or judged.

It is common for people to fear or judge money, often associating it with negative emotions such as greed or shame.

This energy, like everything else, is impacted by the thoughts, words, and emotions we fuel it with.

If you resent money and treat it negatively, you’ll struggle to attract and hold onto it.

On the other hand, when you appreciate money and thank it, it becomes your friend, and it will come to you even when you least expect it. Why? Because you are welcoming it!

If you want to welcome more money into your life, here are 3 money principles that will expand your abundance:

1. Stop Being Awkward Around Money

Do you ever get that awkward feeling when the conversation turns to money? You know, when you start to clam up, get a little embarrassed, or quickly change the subject?

If you do, don't worry, you're not alone.

Many of us have those moments. But it's essential to dig a bit deeper and understand why you feel this way.

Maybe it's because you've been brought up to believe that talking about money is somehow distasteful or bad manners.

Perhaps someone in your past made you feel ashamed or uncomfortable about it.

These feelings often get ingrained in us from a young age and can become more pronounced as we grow older.

Specifically, I've noticed that many women tend to shy away from discussing money. It's like there's this unspoken rule that we shouldn't bring it up, as if it's a taboo subject.

Society sometimes even tells us that we shouldn't make career decisions based on compensation, which is a whole other topic, but it's closely tied to the gender wage gap.

However, let's focus on the here and now. Our discomfort with money often starts when we're children, and it tends to intensify as we get older. It's worth taking some time to reflect on your own money beliefs. Do they still serve you well today? Are there beliefs that hold you back or limit your financial potential?

Understanding and reshaping our relationship with money is an important step toward financial empowerment. So, let's break the ice and start having open, honest conversations about money. It's time to ensure our money beliefs align with our goals and aspirations, helping us pave the way toward financial success and abundance.

2. Learn To Love Money

I recently had a conversation with someone who opened with, 'I hate talking about money.' It struck me how much we reveal about our relationship with money with just one sentence. Like with any subject, using the right language is crucial when discussing money. But even before that, you have to be comfortable with having the conversation.

If you approach money with a negative mindset, embarrassment, or avoidance, guess what? Money has no qualms about finding a new buddy elsewhere.

Money doesn't need you; it can easily go hang out with someone else. So, if you don't want money to stick around, just keep on complaining about how terrible you are with it, how stressful it makes you, and how utterly confusing it seems.

But if you genuinely want money in your life, then it's time to invite it over for a chat – maybe over a cup of coffee.

Embrace it, learn from it, and don't be afraid to talk about it. The more barriers you break down and the more you improve your relationship with money, the greater your chances of achieving financial success.

3. Treat Money Like Your Best Friend

Imagine if you treated your money like your best friend. Pay attention to it, and take it out on 'money dates' (in other words, check your bank accounts, keep tabs on your spending, and make some savvy financial choices). Make your money a top priority, just like you would with your bestie.

And here's a big one: stop comparing yourself to others. Trust me, nobody has their financial act together as perfectly as they might want you to think.

Stick to your plan, focus on your goals, and don't get caught up in what everyone else is doing.

Lastly, start sharing your newfound friendship with money with the world. Ask people about their money journeys or how they handle their finances.

Let it be known far and wide that you and money are now best pals. It's time to make your money story a part of your life's narrative!

Now, to change your money story, you need to become aware of your subconscious limiting beliefs that are keeping you stuck.
