Positive Thinking and Affirmations the Keys to a Smoother Recovery from More than 100 Surgeries, According to Former Model Katie Piper

Positive Thinking, Affirmations and ‘The Secret’ Audiobook Were Invaluable Tools for Recovery During More than 100 Operations, According to Former Model Katie Piper and Mind Movies Co-Founder Natalie Ledwell

Affirmations, positive thinking, and the audiobook version of ‘The Secret’ were invaluable recovery tools for more than 100 surgeries, according to Kate Elizabeth "Katie" Piper, a former model and television presenter from Andover, Hampshire in England.

As she began to embark on a successful career in television, Piper’s fate was changed in an instant in 2008 when sulphuric acid was thrown in her face by an attacker hired by Piper's ex-boyfriend. Both the attacker and Piper's ex-boyfriend were later charged and sentenced to life in prison.

During more than 100 surgeries to repair her face, Piper listened to the audiobook version of ‘The Secret’ to help maintain a positive attitude towards her healing.

“My parents were always very positive from the start, and my best friend bought me the audiobook of the self-help book ‘The Secret’ when I was in hospital,” Piper told popular UK online magazine, News Letter. “I used to do physio four times a day, and I’d listen to it in the background. It helped, and I became really interested in self-help and positive thinking.”

Piper would also write positive, present tense affirmations and post them around her house. She'd also program them into her cell phone to go off as reminders throughout the day.

“It really works because the more you reinforce something positive, it sort of saturates your world,” said Piper.

Today, Piper heads The Katie Piper Foundation, a nonprofit that helps to support people affected by burns and scars. She has also recently published a new book ‘Start Your Day with Katie: 365 Affirmations for a Year of Positive Thinking.’

According to Law of Attraction guru Natalie Ledwell, positive thinking can most definitely help to relieve stress and speed up recovery time.

“While we don’t have the power to control the circumstances that life throws at us, we do have the power to choose how we think and feel about these circumstances,” said Ledwell. “Choose thoughts that empower you, and not only will you find yourself feeling better and healing faster, but all sorts of other new opportunities will also begin to present themselves to you.”

Over 1 million people worldwide have already received Natalie Ledwell’s free pre-made Mind Movies, which are dynamic moving video vision boards that help viewers visualize and achieve their desires and goals faster and easier than they ever thought possible.
