Quick Ways to Reprogram Your Thoughts for Success

“Believe you can and you’re halfway there.” – Theodore Roosevelt

True to this quote, the key to success starts with you. If you fear failure, hide from new opportunities, and shy away from any risks, you’ll certainly never reach the success you desire. That’s because you must believe in yourself and retrain your brain to be ambitious in order to achieve your goals. After all, recent research shows that our thoughts and our subconscious mind’s have a powerful impact on our wellbeing, success, and overall satisfaction and happiness in life.

Oprah’s been talking about the power of visualization to reprogram your mind for years; but not until recently has science jumped on board and begun connecting a positive outlook on life with lower blood pressure, less heart disease, better weight control, and more stable blood sugar levels.

Lifelong habits of self-doubt, low self-worth, and exposure to negativity can leave their imprint - so it’s important to learn how to reprogram your subconscious mind in order to achieve success. This can be done with visualization and powerful affirmations, along with other tips and tricks that I’m going to share with you below!

Here are my quick ways to reprogram your thoughts for success:

1) Meditate, meditate, meditate

This is one of the most effective (and calming) ways to reprogram your mind. Even if you only do 20 minutes per day, the results can be monumental. You can even start with 10 minutes in the morning and 10 minutes at night. Any little bit helps. There are plenty of apps out there, from self-timing, self-guided meditations to ones that are timed and guided for you.

2) Adopt healthy sleeping habits

There’s no doubt that sleep is a key ingredient to health, but did you know that less than 7 hours of sleep can put you at risk for depression, lack of motivation, and even anxiety? In order to reprogram your thoughts, your conscious mind needs to rest - so make sure you’re getting at least 7 hours of sleep each night.

3) Use affirmations

I mentioned this above but wanted to make sure to go into detail. When I started down the personal development road, I began by writing affirmations and reading them daily until they became a habit and I no longer needed to read from a list - it just came naturally to me. Affirmations are one of the best tools to set you up for a successful mindset.

4) Find some quiet time

In other words, unplug. These days, those little text dings can feel almost Pavlovian and jaunt you out of what may have been an otherwise peaceful moment. So take time each day to walk away from your devices and screens, even if only for 15 minutes. Any little bit helps (as I keep saying)!

5) Spend time in nature

It’s hard to be negative when you surround yourself with the beauty of nature. Take a walk in the woods, along the beach, or even in your local park. The health benefits of nature are indisputable, but the mental benefits are also plentiful. So take some time as often as you can to be outside. Even having that happy hour glass of wine on the porch, watching the sunset, can have a positive effect on your mindset  - so sip away! ;)

Those are just a few of my quick shortcuts when I feel I need to reboot my mindset - do you have some you use? Make sure to share in the comments below. Visualization is a powerful tool but it’s also a muscle that needs to be worked, so practicing all of the above can help turn it into an easy, positive habit.

Speaking of visualization, I have a manifesting exercise that you will absolutely love! You can find it for FREE right here!
