6 Essential Oils To Check Out Now!

Essential oils have made a big splash (no pun intended) in the last several years, and for a very good reason; they heal your mind, body, and soul. What’s more is that essential oils can be used to get the Law of Attraction on your side, helping you manifest your greatest destiny.

I’ve put together a list of essential oils and how you can use them to manifest health, abundance, and peace of mind.

Here are 6 Essential Oils to check out right now:

1) Lavender

Lavender is extracted from the lavender plant, mostly through steam distillation, and is very fragrant. There are so many benefits to lavender essential oil, I could write a dedicated blog to it. But I’ll give you the highlights of what makes lavender oil so special. Lavender induces sleep, and in studies of elderly people with insomnia, lavender oil placed on their pillows resulted in better sleep regularity. Also, lavender helps relieve stress and anxiety. The calming scent of the oil helps to relax, and there is research to support that it helps with the autonomic nervous system. Lavender also helps to relieve pain. You may have noticed that many massage therapists use lavender essential oil. This is because of the relaxing, pain-reducing, decompressing qualities it provides. You likely feel in tune with your body after a good massage, and that’s because tension is being released and good, positive energy is flowing. It’s the Law of Attraction in motion! Use to: create calm/peace of mind.

2) Frankincense

Frankincense comes from the resin of the Boswellia serrata tree, commonly grown in Somalia. Frankincense has been known to help boost the immune system and prevent certain illnesses. Frankincense has been used to help combat the side effects of chemotherapy and has shown to help fight cells of some cancers. Frankincense can kill certain germs and bacteria, specifically in the mouth, so it’s great for oral health. It also helps to heal skin, prevent signs of aging, improve memory, ease digestion, help balance hormones, fertility, and much more. To use frankincense, it can be inhaled, or it can be used topically on the skin, usually with a carrier oil such as coconut or jojoba oil. Use to: attract prosperity.

3) Rosemary

Rosemary is considered sacred by certain cultures, and is much more than just a tasty herb you put on your roasted chicken! Part of the mint family, rosemary is thought to boost nerve growth and aids in the healing of brain function and neurological tissue. Rosemary improves memory, helps with digestion, stimulates hair growth, and lowers cortisol. And of course, as mentioned above, it’s a great herb for cooking. Use to: enhance memory.

4) Grapefruit

Grapefruit is one of the most diverse essential oils. It’s high in antioxidants and one of its main properties, limonene, is known to be tumor-fighting and cancer-preventing. Grapefruit is high in Vitamin C, which aids in respiratory issues. It’s also a great help with arthritis. One of my favorite benefits of grapefruit oil is weight loss! Grapefruit’s active ingredients help boost metabolism, reducing appetite. A small amount applied to the skin is a good way to stimulate the lymphatic system. Other benefits of grapefruit oil include helping with stress, blocking sugar cravings, and -  it’s a great hangover cure! Because it’s a powerful liver and gallbladder stimulant, it can help with your “day-after” headache. Also, it smells so fresh and alluring. I remember hearing that the scent of grapefruit gives you the appearance of being four years younger than you actually are! But that could be hearsay ;-). Use to: boost your mood.

5) Orange

This may not be the most important benefit, but I won’t deny it’s one of my favorites: Orange has mild aphrodisiac properties. Okay, moving on -orange also calms spasms, helps in preventing infection, relieving depression, helps with cognitive function, stimulates urination, and boosts immunity. You can use it topically, in a diffuser, or put a few drops in some boiling water and inhale the steam. Use to: boost concentration.

6) Lemon

Another from the citrus family, lemon is a very comprehensive oil with antioxidant properties. It helps with digestion and relieves nausea, and it’s another oil that could help with weight loss. Since it has antibacterial (and anti-fungal) properties, it’s a great oil to help boost oral health - along with teeth whitening! A win-win. When diluted you can also use lemon oil for cleaning around the house, including using it as a disinfectant, for your laundry, dishes and you could even use it as a wood polish. It’s an all-around great oil. Use to: enhance creativity.

One note about essential oils: make sure to consult with an aromatherapy professional or doctor before applying directly to your skin.
