Enlightening Wisdom For An Abundant, Joyful & Love-Filled Life

5 Basic Health Rules You're Probably Forgetting To Follow (That Could Improve Your Life!)

One of my greatest challenges lately:

Being fit and feeling energized throughout the whole day.

And if you’re anything like me, then you may have a few extra pounds you wouldn’t mind getting rid of.

Or simply, you may just want to live a healthier lifestyle.

But with so many diets, trends, and new products… you probably don’t even know where to start or what really works.

You’re confused and overwhelmed!

I get it.

Studies show that Americans spend more than $30 billion a year trying to lose weight to improve their appearance and health with pills, special foods, and weight loss programs.

However, what we often fail to see, is that going back to the basics is what really works. And remembering that health reflects not only on the outside but also on the inside!

This is why I want to remind you about 5 very basic, yet very important things you can do today to skyrocket your health, prevent stress and disease, and shed off a couple extra pounds if you like :)

1) Drinking Water

It's so simple, and yet so many people overlook the importance of staying hydrated.

A nice little trick to help you do this is to add electrolytes (something I do all the time) or even squeeze a slice of fresh lemon into your water.

Try to stay away from soda and flavored, sugary drinks, which can actually dehydrate you.

Remember: You're meant to drink 8 glasses of water a day, so drink up :)

2) Taking Vitamins

I take vitamins daily that help boost my immune system.

It's important to find vitamins that are right for you - so I encourage you to take some time to find what kind of supplements are best for your particular body type.

3) Working Out

Go on a brisk walk, take a fitness class or meet with a personal trainer.

Exercising can be much easier if you have an accountability partner to work out with.

Even simple things like walking or biking instead of driving somewhere can help improve your health.

Or you can choose to take the stairs instead of the elevator. Every little bit counts :)

4) Sleeping a Minimum of 7 Hours

Most people know that…

Sleep is just as important as drinking water and exercising…

Yet many are still not sleeping enough hours.

If you’re one of them, and if you’re replacing sleep with coffee or other stimulants, consider making sleep a priority.

Otherwise, you’ll simply run out of battery.

5) Thinking & Being Positive

Just like water, your thoughts and attitude are often overlooked.

It's important to have a positive attitude towards your health, your body, your overall self, and honestly, everything in life.

Having a good attitude will raise your vibration, which in turn, will naturally motivate you to WANT to do the things above.

In addition, it'll attract positive people and resources to you.

One of my favorite quotes from Mike Dooley, one of the stars from “The Secret”, is:

"Thoughts become things."

I love it because I think it's SO true!

If you think thoughts like, "I enjoy going on my daily walk," instead of "I hate walking," then you'll enjoy and look forward to your walk (or whatever type of exercise you do).

And who knows, the Universe just might reward you for being so upbeat!

I challenge you to accomplish at least 1, if not all 5, of these things today.

Go for it!

You can do it :)
