5 Tips That Will Help You Uncover What You Want in Life

Oftentimes we hear that one of the most important things we need to do to manifest our desires is to get crystal clear on what we want. 
 

And while this is true, it’s actually one of the areas where people experience the most struggle!
 

But the thing is if you’re not clear on what you want in life, then most likely, you’ll spend your life living aimlessly wondering around until one day you wake up and you’re full of regrets. It sounds easier than it is though, that’s for sure. Deciding what you want to do with your life, who you want to be, where you want to be, and what people you want to be around are all tough decisions that ultimately shape your life.
 

In today’s blog post, I’d like to share with you 5 tips that will help you uncover what you really want in life and also help guide you take to action towards achieving it:
 

Tip 1. Make the choice 

Yes, some people are born knowing exactly what their passions are and what they want out of life - but even then, they have to make the conscious choice to go after their dreams.

So if you’re not happy with how things are in your life, or if you’re still waiting for something to inspire you, what will it take to push you over the edge and take action?

Remember that YOU are responsible for your life and it’s up to YOU to make a conscious effort to decide how you live it.
 

Tip 2. Connect with your true self

In other words, do you really know who you are at your core? And do you know how to use your abilities and “weaknesses” to your advantage?

One of the obstacles that can prevent us from gaining clarity is our inability to see and embrace all of the different characteristics that make us unique (the good and the not so good).

What we may think is a “weakness”, might actually be seen as a skill or strength by someone else. So instead of feeling victimized by your “weaknesses” or pretending they are not there - acknowledge them and embrace them. Every time you do this, you’ll feel empowered by knowing that you’re good enough, worthy and deserving (even if you’re not perfect).
 

Tip 3. Turn fear into love

Believe it or not, many people confuse fear with lack of clarity. The fear of success, failure and the unknown, is so big that it sometimes blocks people from seeing the truth. 

If you think you’ve been making your life decisions based on fear and have been playing small, living life on autopilot, or trying to live up to other people’s expectations… 

Then I encourage you to replace fear with love

Think of what makes you get out of bed every morning. And if today were your last day, what things would you do? And who would you spend this day with?

Thinking about what brings you the most joy will fill you up with motivation and you’ll notice how that feeling of fear will soon be replaced by love and certainty. 
 

Tip 4. Learn the difference between happiness vs. pleasure

If you don’t know the difference between the two, chances are that you’re feeling stuck in life. 

You see, when you don’t have a clear vision, passion or goal that you want to achieve, it becomes easier to confuse true happiness with pleasure. 

Pleasure comes from something that comforts you for a short period of time, like shopping, watching TV, obtaining more money, etc. - but once that pleasure is over, it can leave you feeling unfulfilled, and with a desire for something ‘more’.

True happiness comes from within, from the satisfaction of knowing yourself and/or from helping others; it brings you a sense of wholeness. 

And while there’s nothing wrong with wanting a better car or going shopping, it’s extremely important to know the difference so that you can… 
 

Tip 5. Set goals that truly fulfill you

I’m sure you’ve heard before that, setting goals is extremely important to get to where you want to be in life, so the question is… why is it so hard to define them and commit to them?

Take the time to think about what really lights you up inside and construct your goals around those things. Revisit them regularly and reward yourself when you take small steps towards accomplishing them.
