5 Tips For Ending Relationships That No Longer Serve You

Looking back at my life, I realize that I've had a lot of great friendships. And at the time, I believed many of these people would be in my life forever, but the reality is that many of these relationships have faded over the years.

I've also come to realize that it's not always a conscious decision to walk away from a relationship or friendship. Sometimes, it may be an outside circumstance that causes friends to grow apart, such as starting a new life in a different part of the world.

But what I do believe is that people are intentionally brought together for a specific purpose. Sometimes the reason can be to learn a valuable lesson that will come in handy later on in life. Or sometimes, it's to challenge your thoughts and provide personal and spiritual growth.

Another powerful lesson I've learned through the healthy AND unhealthy relationships in my life, is to trust that everything happens in a calculated way and will eventually lead to greater good. This is why we must allow ourselves to trust that everything is happening exactly as it should in the way it's destined to be.

Regardless of your situation, I'd like share some very useful tips that you can follow right now (or in the future) to help you move through these times of transition in a positive and healthy way.

Step 1. Embrace Change

“Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.” ~ Seneca

As time passes, we must not forget that people evolve.

Just like your personal growth can shift and change... your friendships and relationships evolve as well. It's not a good or bad thing for friendships to shift, pause, or end all together. It's simply a part of life you must accept that a person may move on after having fulfilled a certain role in your life.

Step 2. Take Responsibility

If the end of the relationship was not on the best terms, first know that it's okay. And second, take responsibility for it. When you no longer blame anyone else for the way you feel, you'll find peace with your changed relationship.

I usually turn to my inner guide, and ask myself what the spiritual lesson I learned was. By doing so and looking inward, I've discovered many areas of my own soul that needed to be healed.

I wouldn't have realized this if certain friendships didn't fall apart for the reasons they did. All of them shed light on certain areas that I needed to work on. It turned out that the purpose of the relationship or the friendship was to show me those areas.

Relationships can be an amazing tool to give us a deeper understanding and love for ourselves, and those around us.

Step 3. Trust That You Have Everything You Need

This simple belief can bring massive amounts of peace and understanding to your day-to-day life. It's amazing to feel confident and certain that every opportunity and situation needed will be presented to you effortlessly.

I try to wake up each morning and trust in this because it forces me to immediately stop trying to control what is out of my hands, and hand over control to the laws of the universe.

Step 4. Be Open To Receive

When you end relationships (especially unhealthy relationships) and friendships that don't resonate with who you are, you carve out the space for new people... people that are more in-line with what your soul needs and wants to learn. It may be scary at first, but don't forget that everything happens FOR you, not TO you.

Step 5. Let Go Of Guilt

As I became more enlightened and committed to nurture my own soul, I felt a deep shift within myself. This involved moving half way across the world to America from Australia. It was scary, but I knew deep down that it was the next phase that would move me one step closer to my goal.

At first I felt guilty about leaving my friends and family, but I had faith that new people, new relationships, and new experiences were coming my way, which would eventually help me grow and evolve into the person I was destined to become.

So even though moving on may seem scary at first, it's important to trust your heart and do what feels right for you. To help you build up resilience to deal with any change or difficult situation in your life, I have a great gift for you.

It is the secret to successful visualization - to envision and manifest the life you desire for yourself, with positive relationships and circumstances.
