Enlightening Wisdom For An Abundant, Joyful & Love-Filled Life

Living in Balance

Living in Balance

"Just as your car runs more smoothly and requires less energy to go faster and farther when the wheels are in perfect alignment, you perform better when your thoughts, feelings, emotions, goals, and values are in balance." - Brian Tracy

Do you ever stop and and think to yourself “Is my life balanced right now?”

Probably not.

Living a balanced life could very well be the secret to a long, happy life. Yet it seems to elude most people.

Living a balanced life means you make time for everything and everyone you love. By doing this, you're nourishing your soul and enriching your life.

If you spend all your time working, thinking about work, or even being stressed out about work, then you're not living in balance.

So here are 4 tips to help you lead a more balanced life:

1) Build Downtime into Your Schedule

Yup, you read that right. Throw some "me time" onto your to-do list. You need it. It will help you recharge so you will be more efficient in later activities because you gave your body (and mind) time to rest. Slowly build more activities into your schedule that are enjoyable for you. For example, if you enjoy painting or drawing, make some time (even an hour a week) to do the things you love. You will be a happier person for it. :)

2) Learn what activities to drop

If you constantly find yourself running out of time, or low on energy, chances are you are overextending yourself. You need to reevaluate your activities and priorities and even cut ones out that zap your time and energy.

For example, if you have a friend or family member that calls a lot and always complains about their life, you should try to minimize that type of chatter because it doesn't serve you.

3) Re-evaluate Your Errands

Constantly running all over town running errands? With modern technology you almost buy everything online! You can order your groceries online, Amazon sells just about everything under the sun. By minimizing your errands, you can spend that extra time doing something you love.

4) You Gotta Work It!

That's right! Exercise is key. Finding time to exercise when you're already so busy can seem daunting. However, you need to make the time. Aside from the health benefits you get from exercising, it's proven to give you more energy and more mental clarity. Therefore, it will increase your ability to concentrate so you will be more productive.
